WELCOME TO SOUTHEASTERN HOMICIDE INVESTIGATORS ASSOCIATION (SEHIA)
Steven Speir is a prosecutor with the Bexar County District Attorney's Office. He's been with the office for 20 years. Initially he served as an intern in the appellate section. After graduating from law school and passing the Texas Bar Exam he's served in the intake, criminal trial, white collar, magistrate, and family violence divisions. He's tried over 170 jury trials to verdict, including over 20 cases involving deceased victims.
Steven has a B.A. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law.
Andreen McDonald, A Case Study
This is a panel discussion between the law enforcement investigators from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and attorneys with the Bexar District Attorney’s Office who were assigned to the homicide investigation of Andreen McDonald. The presentation will cover the case from the initial CID response through the trial, addressing important topics such as a multi-agency response to a homicide investigation as well as the successes and pitfalls of the trial.
