WELCOME TO SOUTHEASTERN HOMICIDE INVESTIGATORS ASSOCIATION (SEHIA)
Ruby has 14 years of law enforcement experience. She began her career at the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) Adult Detention Center where she spent six years assigned to the classification department and achieved the ranked corporal. She was subsequently promoted and reassigned to the BCSO Patrol Division during 2016.
Garcia spent four years on both the East and West districts of the Bexar County where she obtained a solid foundation for arrest, search/seizure, and initial investigations. During 2020, she was promoted to the rank of Investigator and spent her first year in Financial Crimes, where she learned the craft of intensive investigations. Ruby then secured a position in the BCSO Homicide Unit and currently has four years of homicide investigations, equivocal death investigations, and officer involved shootings/custodial death investigations.
Andreen McDonald, A Case Study
This is a panel discussion between the law enforcement investigators from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and attorneys with the Bexar District Attorney’s Office who were assigned to the homicide investigation of Andreen McDonald. The presentation will cover the case from the initial CID response through the trial, addressing important topics such as a multi-agency response to a homicide investigation as well as the successes and pitfalls of the trial.
