Sheriff Ball started his law enforcement career with the city of St. Anthony in 1992. After about six months, he was hired as a patrol officer with the city of Rexburg where he spent the next 31 years.
In November 2023, the previously seated Sheriff retired and Ron Ball was appointed to the office of Sheriff by the Madison County Commissioners.
