Michael J. Lohmann has been with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for twenty-five years. His first position was as a fingerprint examiner and his entire career has involved biometrics. He currently serves a management and program analyst (MAPA) with the Criminal Justice Information Services Division, Biometric Services Section (BSS), Biometric Identification and Analysis Unit’s Fingerprint Services and Analysis Team. His responsibilities include research, analysis, enhancement, development, and promotion of the Next Generation Identification System’s fingerprint services.
Additionally, he supports the Deceased Persons Identification Services and provides law enforcement and criminal justice community outreach associated with the various FBI BSS person-centric services.
Prior to his current position, he was a supervisory biometrics images examiner for ten years assigned to the Special Processing Center (SPC). The SPC specializes in providing around the clock processing of fingerprint submissions that require immediate handling.
