JAMES DOTY

Sergeant-Investigator James Doty is a 15-year member of the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office. He began his career in 2007 working road patrol and has served as a field training officer and crisis negotiator. He transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) in 2013.  


In 2018, a year after being promoted to sergeant, Doty was made supervisor of CID. Sgt. Doty holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's in Justice Administration and Crime Management.
