The 2018 Jacksonville Landing Tragedy
Sergeant Doug Molina graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Sgt. Molina was raised in Jacksonville, FL and has been employed with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office since 2004.
Sergeant Molina spent time in road patrol early in his career with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. He then transferred to the Detective Division in 2014, where he worked as a Special Assault Detective for almost 3 years. He then worked in the Homicide Unit as a Homicide Detective. In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Patrol Division. This past summer, Sgt. Molina was transferred back to the Homicide Unit as a Sergeant.
Sergeant Molina was also a member of the Hostage Negotiations Team and Critical Stress Management Team from 2010-2018. He worked as a Hostage Negotiator and also spent time as the Team Training Coordinator and facilitated training for the team.
Sergeant Molina has been married for 14 years to his wife Melissa and is a proud parent as well. In his spare time, Sgt. Molina enjoys running and participates in local races.
Sergeant Molina was on the primary Homicide Team that responded to the Jacksonville Landing immediately following the tragic shooting that occurred on Sunday, August 26th, 2018.
