Crime Analyst (CA) Christine DePoyster has been with the FBI since September 2004. Upon joining the FBI she was assigned as the Support Services Technician for the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) Unit. Then in July 2005, she accepted the position as a ViCAP Crime Analyst. She is responsible for providing analytical and operational support to federal, state, and local agencies throughout the states of Texas, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Isles, pertaining to serial criminal offenses. In addition, she provides on-site computer-based training, and as of 2021, virtual trainings, for law enforcement agencies participating with the ViCAP National Crime Database. CA DePoyster is the Team Leader for the Highway Serial Killings Initiative (HSK), which was created in an extensive effort to provide support to state and local law enforcement agencies with investigations of violent crimes that have a nexus to the nation’s highways. CA DePoyster was recently featured as a guest speaker on a podcast called “The Bureau” where she discussed HSK and the work conducted by analysts in ViCAP. She is a Certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst through the California State University in Sacramento, CA. Prior to joining the FBI she was employed by the Department of State overseas, in Switzerland and Beijing, and worked closely with security officials for the U.S. Embassies in those countries.
