Chris Haverdink is a dedicated General Case Detective who began his Detective role in 2001 at the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office in Allegan Michigan. Chris believes each victim deserves excellence in carrying out an investigation and uses each of unique perspectives gained from his career experiences to apply that excellence. In his 27 years in law enforcement, he has served his community as a reserve officer, SWAT Team Leader, Community Policing Officer, and Victim’s Services Liaison.
Chris’ career journey has allowed him to gain thorough knowledge of every aspect of a criminal investigation and prosecution. He believes a common theme to success is based on the relationships you build or have with others. He uses strong partnerships with different law enforcement agencies and the prosecuting attorney’s offices to ensure justice is served.
Working in the rural police force of Michigan, Chris has participated in approximately 50 homicide investigations since his career began. Each of those roles added a new perspective key in developing his skills to apply to new and open cases. Chris is proud to be a part of the investigative team credited with the success of investigating Dennis Bowman’s crimes and appreciates the opportunity to discuss with you what he considers vital to those investigations.
Outside of excellent police work, Chris also enjoys spending time with his family and being an avid hunter and fisherman.
